Aylin Esener was born in Buxtehude. As a graduate actress, she left the Potsdam-Babelsberg Academy of Film and Television to go to Aachen for a full-time engagement. This resulted in two nominations for her as best actress of the year and paved her way to the Deutsches Theater Berlin, where she played first permanently, then as a guest from 2003 to 2009. Her working methods were particularly influenced by productions by Christoph Ernst, Ali M. Abdullah, Bettina Bruinier, Nicolas Stemann and Niels Kurvin, who staged her solo evening Lust auf was anderes – Canım başka bir şey istiyor. This premiered in Aachen in March 2007 under the production label aeneki and has already made guest appearances in Hamburg, Ludwigshafen, Karlsruhe, Bremen and Ballhaus Naunynstraße. Aylin Esener is a member of the band Postpank. At Ballhaus Naunynstraße, she performed in Funk is not dead! (2011) directed by İdil Üner, Lust auf was Anderes (2020) and Im Strom (2022) directed by Atilla Oener.
