Daisuke Miyazaki was born in 1980 in Yokohama, Japan. After graduating from the prestigious Waseda University (Tokyo), he attended a summer school at New York University in 2004 and won the Christine Choi Award at NYU’s KUT Film Festival with his final project „THE 10TH ROOM“. After working as a production design assistant on Leos Carax’s short film „MERDE“ (2008), he started his career as an assistant director for various well-known Japanese directors, including Kiyoshi Kurosawa. He made his screenwriting debut in 2011, with „IN A LONELY PLANET“, which was realized by director Takefumi Tsutsui. In the same year, his feature film debut „END OF THE NIGHT“ was released, which was screened by various international festivals.
