Irene Selka, born in Berlin in 1979, trained as an event technology specialist after graduating from high school. Since then, she has worked primarily as a lighting technician, light operator and designer for theater, dance and, more recently, film. From 2005 to 2008 she lived and worked in Sao Paulo, Brazil; mainly in the Teatro Oficina, which is also known in Germany through some guest performance tours. Since the beginning of 2008 she lives in Berlin again.
