Jaika Bahr was born in Berlin in 1995. After graduating from high school, she interned with Daniela Löffner and Andreas Kriegenburg at the Deutsches Theater Berlin. She then went on to study cultural studies with a focus on linguistics and literary studies at the Europa Universität Viadrina and the Arts, Culture and Media program at the Reichsuniversität Groningen (NL). During her studies she worked as an assistant director and dramaturge at the Theater an der Parkaue as well as at the Yiddish Summer Weimar Festival.
