Katharina Wyss, born and raised in Fribourg/Switzerland, has lived and worked in Berlin since 1998. After completing her master’s degree in philosophy and film studies at the FU Berlin and the Sorbonne in Paris, she studied directing at the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (dffb). She has written and directed fictional short films (including 1000 Meilen von Tashkent and Minusland ), commercials and video works in the fields of fashion, art and theater, and translated numerous screenplays and films from French. Currently she is busy realizing her first feature film script. All her films are made in collaboration with cinematographer Cornelius Plache, who also studied at the dffb and was awarded the Michael-Ballhaus-Förderpreis in 2009.
