Llaima Suwani

Llaima Suwani Sanfiorenzo is a humanist and filmmaker. She is the president and director of The Self Portrait Factory project, with which she has traveled the world developing a new participatory cinema for all. She currently lives in Puerto Rico as an independent producer and TV host for contemporary films and young directors. Sanfiorenzo graduated from the International Film School in Cuba, where she received a scholarship to continue her studies in cinematography in Berlin. In Berlin, she worked for two years as a project coordinator at Ballhaus Naunynstraße and produced her own short films as a director, which were presented at international film festivals. Currently, Llaima is busy pre-producing and writing her first screenplay for a feature film set on the island of Vieques, Puerto Rico.
