Lobadys Pérez is a dancer and choreographer and a member of the hip-hop movement in Cartagena de Indias. He studied contemporary dance at the Colegio del Cuerpo and was a member of the International Contemporary Dance Company directed by the renowned choreographers Álvaro Restrepo and Marie France Deliuvin. In 2008 he received his degree as a pedagogue in basic education in dance at the University of Antioquia. He has completed a Master’s degree in Development and Culture at the Technological University of Bolívar. In 2010 he founded the professional dance company Periferia, entering into a dialogue between his artistic origins in hip-hop and his training as a dancer in contemporary dance to search for his own gestures.

Pérez is a founding member of the Ciudad Móvil an independent cultural center that was later converted into CentroPeriferia, a plural and democratic space of diffusion, creation and artistic formation located in the historic district of Getsemaní. In addition to his experience as a dancer he has been involved as a choreographer, teacher and cultural manager as well as in academic research processes in Development and Culture.
