Magda Korsinsky is a visual artist and choreographer. Born in Prague, she studied visual arts at UdK Berlin, ENSBA Paris and AVU Prague. In 2012 she completed her choreography studies at HZT Berlin. Her visual works have been presented in numerous exhibitions including Galerie Dengler und Dengler in Stuttgart, Kunsthaus Dresden, Savvy Contemporary e.V., Haus der Geschichte Vienna and Kunsthalle Bonn; her choreographic works have been performed at Sophiensaele, Maxim Gorki Theater, Theater Oberhausen, Theater an der Parkaue and Ballhaus Naunynstraße, among others. Here she created Gazes that Matter in 2014 and also her multi-part, interdisciplinary work STRICKEN. In 2019, she developed PATTERNS with ten Black women on stage at Ballhaus Naunynstraße. Her latest work at Ballhaus Naunynstraße is WERDEN as part of the dance series Wie ich werde, wie ich sein will. With different artistic media she explores themes such as identity, self-empowerment as well as interpersonal relationships and the political in private.
