Marcelo Omine, born in São Paulo, began his dance career at the Balé da Cidade de Sao Paulo. A scholarship from ITI Germany brought him to Cologne first. This was followed by engagements at the Theater Freiburg, Schauspielhaus Hamburg, Volksbühne Berlin and Oper Bonn, with Pavel Mikulastik and Johann Kresnik, among others. For several years, he worked as a dancer and assistant with Cocoondance. As a dance educator, he is involved in the field of cultural education projects. In 2009, he completed a master’s degree in contemporary dance education at the HfMDK Frankfurt am Main.
