Michael Ronen

Michael Ronen was born in Jerusalem and studied directing at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. In 2006 he founded the international artists‘ network Conflict Zone Arts Asylum (CZAA). Previous productions include: iWitness by Joshua Sobol (Finborough Theater London, 2007), Closing Time (Soho Theatre, London & Edinburgh Fringe Festival, 2007), Krieg by Lars Norén (13. Diyalog TheaterFest 2009 at Ballhaus Naunynstraße), Verbrennungen by Wajdi Mouawad and Wunschkonzert by Franz Xaver Kroetz (Arab-Hebrew Theatre in Jaffa, Israel), Seawall (Acre Fringe Festival, Israel) and Romeo and Juliet adapted by Nuran David Calis (commissioned by Jerusalem Festival 2010). At Ballhaus Naunynstraße, Michael Ronen has already been involved in the theater parcours Kavehane Turkish delight, German fright? as well as Die Große Geld oder Leben Tour, an interactive performance through migrant economic spaces. In 2010 he directed the science fiction comedy Warten auf Adam Spielman by Hakan Savaş Mican and in 2011 Perikızı by Emine Sevgi Özdamar.
