Yavuz Akbulut (aka Dj Pasha, Yavuz Ak) was born in Berlin Neukölln. His musical family instilled in him a love for classical Turkish stringed instruments and Turkish folklore at an early age, and so he began learning to play the Bağlama as a young boy. In the late eighties he was caught by the hip hop culture and realized his musical drive at the turntables. This was followed by Europe-wide bookings as DJ Pasha and productions for renowned artists in Turkey. But he also refined his affinity for the four-four time and gradually filled Berlin’s techno clubs with sound. An education as a sound engineer perfected his producer skills and his feeling for fine beats. Today he produces danceable electronic music and hip hop with a pinch of orient.
