Making SPACE. Creating Spaces
With Marlize André, Lewamm Ghebremariam and Jeff Kwasi Klein
The hurdles are high, especially for me. With whom can I overcome them?
How can we create spaces in the face of structural violence? For ourselves and for others. How can we build spaces that allow us to take a breath and empower ourselves? Spaces where we meet, encounter each other, share knowledge, dance, and collectively create something. Spaces where we establish structures to act publicly with strength. Ultimately, it’s about reshaping life according to our desires and goals.
Much has already been accomplished, and we can build on some experiences. This includes the political work of Marlize André, Lewamm Ghebremariam, and Jeff Kwasi Klein. In the moderation of Emilene Wopana Mudimu, they come together this evening for an exchange of experiences:
Marlize André has a medical activist background (focusing on global health, especially in East and Southern Africa) and is part of Casa Kuà, an association with expertise in the health field in Kreuzberg, Berlin, specializing in racialized trans*, inter* and non-binary people; Lewamm Ghebremariam is a diversity consultant and cultural entrepreneur whose work includes launching Clubcomission’s Awareness Academy; Jeff Kwasi Klein is a co-founder of the Multitude Foundation, which supports political activists of Color and Black aspiring politicians on their journey into politics.
On this evening, during Making SPACE. Creating Spaces, they will share their experiences and strategies: What has proven successful? How can we create spaces for Black people and People of Color and expand their spheres of action? What has been the development in recent years? What is needed now? All in the spirit of United Polyphonic!
