Öner was born in 1981 in Ankara, Turkey. She studied at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Cinema and Television at Marmara University. She has worked as a lighting designer and technician from 2007 in theaters and organizations in the UK, Berlin  and Turkey.  She is an activist artist.  She likes to use different art objects together. Recently, she has been interested in sound and light installation. She has a light installation exhibition with a sound artist about femicide.
