Cem Sultan Ungan

Cem Sultan Ungan was born in Eskişehir, Turkey and came to Berlin at the age of 15. He completed his acting training at the Institute for Acting and participated in numerous workshops, including Mathieu Burton, Prof. Gennadije Bogdanov, Prof. Dr. Peter Simhandl. Since 1985 he has had engagements at Theater Tiyatrom, Stadttheater Duisburg, Deutsches Theater (Baracke), Schauspielhaus Leipzig, Staatsoper unter den Linden and Shakespeare Company, where he worked with Thomas Ostermeier, Doris Dörrie and Susanne Truckenbrot. Ungan has also appeared in numerous cinema and television films, including 2½ Minutes by Rolf Schübel and Hannes Ragtime by Iva Schwarznova. As part of the beyond belonging festival, he appeared in the play Jenseits – Bist du schwul oder bist du Türke? by Nurkan Erpulat and Tunçay Kulaoğlu (premiere May 2008, HAU); the play was revived at Ballhaus Naunynstraße. Here he also directed Kampf. Die Landschaft danach (2010) and Tod eines Superhelden (2011) and acted in Lö Bal Almanya (2010) directed by Nurkan Erpulat, Perikizi (2011) directed by Michael Ronen, Funk is not dead! (2011) directed by İdil Üner, Liga der Verdammten (2013) directed by Neco Çelik and Im Strom (2022) by Atilla Oener.
