José Fernando Peixoto de Azevedo

José Fernando Peixoto de Azevedo is a director, playwright and holds a PhD in philosophy from the University of São Paulo, where he is a professor at the School of Dramatic Art and at the Postgraduate Program in Performing Arts. He is the founder of Teatro de Narradores and works with black collectives such as the group Os Crespos. He has presented practical and theoretical works in countries such as Germany (Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich), Portugal (Lisbon, Porto) and Spain (Madrid, Barcelona). Author of the book Eu, um Crioulo, he publishes essays in several specialized magazines and has texts published in several collective books. José Fernando Peixoto de Azevedo coordinates the Encruzilhada book collection, by the publisher Cobogó, in which he published books by Denise Ferreira da Silva, Jota Mombaça, among other authors; and is a curator at festivals such as the MITsp (Mostra Internacional de Teatro de São Paulo), among others.
