Mathieu Amadou studied fashion design at the Weißensee School of Art in Berlin and received his Master of Arts in 2022.
He values manual work and pursues an open, interdisciplinary approach to design. With his preference for textile manipulation, he sees himself as a textile crafter. His costumes are intended to embody a unique blend of anti-aesthetics and inclusivity, with a focus on the recycling and reuse of materials.
Since 2023, Mathieu has been involved in several productions at Ballhaus Naunynstraße, including the world premiere of Riskant. Vögel aufscheuchen ( directed by Arel Dewi, written by To Doan; 2023), Flight of the Canaries by Bishop Black (2023), the dance performance by Fernanda Costa Caminhos das Águas – Unaufhaltsames Fließen (2024) and the production of the akademie der autodidakten Kraftwandler*innen (2024).
