Volkan T. is considered one of the pioneers of Turkish hip hop in Germany and Turkey. He worked with stars of the Turkish hip hop scene such as Ceza, Ayben, Sahtıyan, Alaturka Mavzer, Fuat and with German rappers such as Kool Savaş, Tone, D-Flame and Galla. He co-founded the music label Ruffmix Recordings and, with his partner Toby Dope, composed pieces for various theater performances and film soundtracks, including for Züli Aladağ’s multi-award-winning film Wut and for Tim Staffel’s play Mustafa Woyzeck in the direction of Alex Holtsch. As bassist of the bands Devil Inside and Doom Day,Volkan T. is now also known to a broad heavy metal and noise audience. He has also worked with international acts such as Hatebreed, Dropkick Murphys and Sworn Enemy. At Ballhaus Naunynstraße he was on stage as a guitarist in the piece Dog eat Dog as part of the opening festival Dogland in 2008. TANZ DICH TOT Hip-Hop Party is the format for which he regularly stands behind the turntables at Ballhaus Naunynstraße since 2009.
