Carving out Community shows black, queer, feminist and post-colonial perspectives: six young protagonists negotiate community, solidarity and resistance on stage – and the meaning it has in their lives.
A group of BIPOC met from September to December to experiment with different artistic forms of expression. This was led by author, actress and facilitator Mmakgosi Kgabi. The focus was the question of how one can create community and unanimous connections in an individualised world and despite all dividing lines. How one can find commonalities; how one can create things together, how collectively one can contrive commonalities – carving out community!
