Nevzat Akpınar is a composer and a bağlama player. He has performed with the Berliner Symphonikern in the Philharmonie, appeared at the New York Carnegie Hall, and regularly gives concerts at the Ballhaus Naunynstraße. This year he celebrates his 15th anniversary on the Ballhaus Naunynstraße stage! On this evening, he will give a unique concert, together with the singer and pianist Merve Akyıldız.

Together, they present traditional songs from Turkey, but especially compositions by Nevzat Akpınar: instrumental compositions and songs based on poems by poets like Nâzım Hikmet and Cemal Süreya. Thereby, a bridge is built between Anatolian and European classical musical language, allowing both musical languages to merge into each other.
