Irina Szodruch studied Romance Studies (French and Spanish) and Modern German Literature at the Universities of Hamburg, Paris III/Sorbonne Nouvelle and FU Berlin. In the 2005/2006 season she was assistant dramaturg at the Volkstheater Wien and subsequently worked for several years as a permanent dramaturg at the Schaubühne and accompanied numerous productions as dramaturg for FIND 7 (focus on Israel), FIND 8 (focus on Palestine), the International Festival of Authors on Identity and History digging deep and getting dirty as well as Dritte Generation and The Day Before the Last Day by Yael Ronen, among others. Since 2009 she has been working as a freelance dramaturg, among others for the performing arts festival IN TRANSIT at the Haus der Kulturen der Welt. At Ballhaus Naunynstraße she was dramaturg of numerous productions, most recently § 301 – Die beleidigte Nation, Beg your pardon and Die Saison der Krabben.
