Catalina Fernández was born in Pereira, Colombia. She is a light designer, videographer and photographer working for performance, film, music and visual arts. She graduated in Film and Photography at the Unitec University in Bogotá, Colombia and studied Lighting Design for theater at the National Art University Institute (IUNA) Buenos Aires. She worked as a lighting designer at the Hochschulübergreifendes Zentrum Tanz Berlin (HZT), Werkstatt der Kulturen, Poesie Festival Berlin, Ballhaus Naunynstraße and Studio 44 Constanza Macras. She collaborated with Showcase Beat Le Mot, Nathalie Fari, Juliana Piquero and Dovrat Meron developing videos and stage design for their projects. As a photographer and artist adviser she worked with the cinematographers and visual artists Philip Groening, Katya Sander, Anika Larsson among others. Parallel to her artistic practice she runs the distribution and sales company MONDODUOFILMS.
At Ballhaus Naunynstraße, Catalina Fernández is also involved in Memory of Dislocation (2017) by Jao Moon.
