Mehmet Can Koçak (or Milen Mihaylov) was born in Bulgaria in 1988. He studied photojournalism, photography and video at Yıldız Technical University. His short films Iyi Geceler and P3RSP3CTIV3 screened at the Berlinale, São Paulo International Film Festival and Sitges Film Festival, among others. Since 2012 he lives in his adopted home Berlin and works as a filmmaker and video artist in various projects, including Apartment Project Organization (video installation still there), Star Media’s educational campaign „Lernen Macht Stark“ and at Ballhaus Naunynstraße (div. Kiez-Monatsschauen, Queer and beyond (2012), Revolution in Kreuzberg? Global Duty (2014), ONE DAY I WENT TO *IDL (2015), Out in the Open (2016), Bloody, medium oder durch (2016). In 2016, he is also shooting two short films: Iyi Geceler 2 and Eine Geschichte über exakt diese Thematik.
